After working hard to prepare, our young actors performed for their classmates and did a fantastic job bringing the story to life! We are so proud of their creativity, confidence, and enthusiasm for reading! 👏💜📖

We are hosting a Hog-N-Bones Boston Butt Fundraiser, with all proceeds divided equally between Marcie and Amber’s families.

Ms. Swopes' second graders have been practicing different strategies to add and subtract! Monday, we learned how to add using a number line. What better way to practice than by turning our very own desk tops into number lines?! Students got hands-on as they counted, hopped, and solved addition problems right at their desks! We’re building confidence, exploring new strategies, and discovering that there’s more than one way to solve a problem!
🍎 It’s apple week in Mrs. Onken and Mrs. Compton’s kindergarten class!
In preparation for Johnny Appleseed Day, these little learners are exploring all things APPLES! Today, they learned about the different parts of an apple and then put their learning to good use by making a special apple snack. 🍏
Learning is always a little more fun when you can eat the lesson afterward! 😋
We can’t wait to see what else is in store as they continue their apple adventures this week! 🍎🍏

🎥 A little extra recognition for our Good Morning Dewar crew!
First, another special thank you, again, to Coach Fleming for spending part of her morning with us and being such a great guest.
But we have to brag on our GMDS crew, too!
These students showed up this morning with absolutely no idea what was coming. When they learned we had a special guest AND would be hosting their first live, on-screen interview of the year, the entire crew rallied and got to work.
Ryan and Teagan did an excellent job interviewing Coach Fleming on camera, while Brady, Kelly, Charley Ann, and Ava held it down behind the scenes with cue-card slides, backgrounds, camera work, cueing, and all the little logistics that keep a live show moving.
And when we say LIVE, we mean LIVE! Good Morning Dewar is broadcast live to the entire school every morning. No second takes, no editing out mistakes, and no “let’s try that again.” Once that camera is on, we’re rolling!
We are incredibly proud of this team and how they keep learning, problem-solving, staying flexible, and going with the flow each morning. Today was a big first, and they handled it beautifully.
