We would like to say thank you to the Howard Center for bringing cheesecake for our staff. Ms. Taylor was thrilled to be the lucky purse winner! 😊

We were happy to host leaders from around the district for our teaching and learning visit earlier this week! #BetterTogether #OneLowndes

Mrs. Martin’s students collaborated as they curated information about genetics and heredity and then used what they learned to generate images of what celebrity babies might look like! 👶🏻 #STEM #ThreeCs

6th grade social studies and ELA classes collaborated to learn about types of government this week! In social studies, students compared and contrasted autocratic and democratic governments. Then, students used the graphic organizers they made to write summaries and create comic strips to illustrate the differences between the two in their ELA class. Students enjoyed making their comics, and teachers enjoyed seeing their students' creativity. Interdisciplinary lessons for the win! 😄 #STEM #ThreeCs

Ms. McCormack’s EPIC class completed research on holidays around the world! To celebrate, they tried foods from different countries they studied such as barley candy from Canada, roasted potatoes from Germany, and Mexican hot chocolate from Mexico! 🇲🇽🇨🇦🇩🇪🎄🎅🏼

Grinch Day was a hit! We even had a special visitor roaming the halls this morning. 🎄

To practice argumentative writing, 8th grade ELA students listed Disney villains and outlined an essay about which Disney villain was the best. ✏️🧠

Great minds think alike! These three lovely ladies were ready to take on the day and inspire our students in matching holiday green. 🎄

We are excited to announce that we will be hosting STEM Career Day again this year! This year's event will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025. Our students thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to learn more about careers and interact with community members who play critical roles in our local area.
Please help us spread the word by sharing this flyer with your family, friends, and business partners who might be interested in presenting! For more informationor to sign up to present, go to bit.ly/pgmstem25 💡

Tomorrow kicks off our holiday dress up days!🎄☃️

Mr. Holyoak's social studies students worked in pairs to research prominent religions in Southeast Asia. They collaborated on the same presentation at the same time and included links to their research findings. They are rocking the Three Cs! #ThreeCs

FBLA thoroughly enjoyed their guest speaker, Stephanie Bullard, yesterday! She talked to them about workplace etiquette--everything from interviews to building a productive work environment. They even played a board game where they learned about different careers and practiced strong first impressions and handshakes! #FBLA #CTAE #CommunityPartners

Track tryouts will be held in January. They are broken down into three categories: sprint day, field day, and mid/long distance day.
1/21: Sprint Tryouts
1/22: Field Event Tryouts
1/23: Mid/Long Distance Tryouts
Tryouts will be from 3:45 - 5:00 PM. Students should attend the days for the events they are interested in. For example, if a student wants to run the 100 meters and high jump, they would need to come 1/21 and 1/22.
Students interested in trying out must be academically eligible and have a current sports physical on file with the Pine Grove athletic department.

PGM would like to thank the students who raise and lower our flag. All school year, rain or shine, these students show responsibility, honor, and respect every Monday morning and Friday afternoon as they display America's flag with pride. The Military Club treated these students with Chick-fil-A to thank them for being ALL IN! 🇺🇸

PGM choirs were invited to sing at Wild Adventures during their Wild and Bright holiday celebration!
Students enjoyed free admission to the park and sang Christmas songs for Wild Adventures guests. They will perform at Wild Adventures again on December 19.
These performances also preview some of the songs in their upcoming holiday concert on Tuesday, December 17 at 6:30 PM in the Lowndes High School Performing Arts Center. We hope to see you there! 🎶

The Pine Grove Bands did a wonderful job last night! All grade levels played beautifully. Thanks, Mrs. Griffin and students, for your hard work and such a lovely performance! 🎶🎄

The PGM Military Club celebrated the season with a holiday party! Club members enjoyed a special lunch with cake and a friendly Mario Kart competition. We love to see military-connected students supporting each other. 😊

As part of their grade-level read of Refugee by Alan Gratz, Mrs. Justice's ELA students researched items that refugees typically pack as necessities when fleeing, then compared it to the items they could pack if they could. They collaborated to create a poster or infographic about the comparison to share with their peers. Finally, they reflected on their findings and made connections to the novel. 📖💻 #ThreeCs #PGMreads
