GMAS? These 4th Graders Say “Bring It, Mortals!” ⚡️🏛️ This week, our myth-tastic 4th graders turned GMAS review into an epic quest! With friendly academic challenges and a chance to earn coveted lightning bolts, they proved they were ready to face any trial—even those from Mount Olympus. To celebrate their heroic efforts, students rotated through Greek mythology-inspired stations, perfectly aligned with their literature study of Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. ☁️ They soared through Zeus' clouds 💘 Penned self-love scrolls worthy of Aphrodite herself 🛡️ Forged shields of strength with Ares 🔤 Translated their names into divine Greek script with Apollo 🍇 Lounged like gods while snacking on grapes with Dionysus 🍐 And took a pear-fect bite with Hera Our little Olympians had a mythical time—learning, laughing, and leveling up their knowledge. With minds sharper than Athena’s wisdom, these heroes are more than ready to slay the GMAS! #learningatlpe

Today Mrs. Baskette’s class celebrated finishing their first Because of Winn-Dixie assessment by planting “wait and see seeds.” Like Opal in their book, they are excited to see what grows! Special thanks to Mrs. Cooper for donating soil and helping us plant our seeds. #learningatlpe

While working on comprehension and using text evidence to answer questions about a text, Mrs. Conaway's class read a non-fiction passage about the origin and history of the sweet treat Peeps. They used their creative skills and only a few materials to construct a sturdy tower nest to keep their Peeps off the ground and away from predators. Students used a variety of strategies to ensure their Peeps were safe! #learningatlpe

Congratulations to LPE's latest Teacher and Staff Member of the Month!!! This award is well deserved by both of these hard working ladies. Teacher of the month: Mrs. Rackley 🎉Mrs. Rackley is a vital part of the LPE community, always ready to help her students and coworkers. She inspires her students to do well and takes pride in her work. Each morning, she leads prayer in the library for students and teachers, showing her dedication to the school. As a caring teacher, she works hard to meet the needs of each student by providing structured and engaging lessons. Mrs. Rackley encourages her students to do their best and takes time to get to know them personally, making everyone feel valued. She welcomes other teachers into her classroom and communicates clearly with students, parents, and coworkers to support everyone’s success. Having transitioned smoothly to first grade this year, she has been a great help to the team, especially with her technology skills, making her an important resource at LPE. 👩‍🏫 Staff member of the month: Fran Holloway 🎇Mrs. Fran shines brightly at LPE with her positive attitude and warm smile! 🌟 Hula Hoop Knock Down Fun! 🌟 Our K-5 students had a blast in PE playing Hula Hoop Knock Down! 🎉 This exciting game promotes communication and teamwork as students take on different roles: builders, defenders, and throwers. The goal? Knock down all 4 huts to claim victory! 🏆🤹‍♂️ #learningatlpe

Our Third Grade classes kicked off their GMAS Test Prep Olympics this week. They use this time as a fun opportunity to review critical skills before the upcoming Georgia Milestones Test. #learningatlpe

Our second grade classes participated in their annual 📚March Book Madness 🏀competition. This year they recruited some special guest referees to help us celebrate the joy of reading! #learningtatlpe

Fourth grade students are participating in a fun and exciting Shark Tank-inspired project where they invent or innovate a new product. Working in teams, they brainstorm creative ideas and develop solutions to real-world problems. Once their products are ready, they present their inventions to a panel of "sharks"—teachers and school staff acting as investors—pitching their ideas in hopes of striking a deal. Throughout the process, students negotiate, refine their presentations, and learn valuable skills in entrepreneurship. This experience not only boosts their confidence but also teaches them about teamwork, problem-solving, and business concepts. By engaging in this hands-on activity, students gain a deeper understanding of how innovation and collaboration can lead to successful outcomes. #learningatlpe

Mrs. Cliett’s fifth grade discovery students are learning to code with Sphero Indi robots, exploring the basics of programming. They collaborate to create code that makes the robots perform various tasks, including spelling words. As they work together, they face challenges that require problem-solving and creative thinking. Through these hands-on activities, students strengthen their teamwork and communication skills. The Sphero Indi robots offer a fun way to engage with technology while developing important skills. This experience helps students understand how coding can be used to solve problems and achieve goals. #learningatlpe

🌟What a fantastic day we had at our LPE Field Day! A big shoutout to our incredible PE teachers for the amazing job they did organizing the event and our dedicated teachers and staff for running the stations and managing the students. It was such a fun-filled event! 🙌 Despite the limited space due to the new construction at our school, everyone came together to make the day a huge success!
