LHS Off-Broadway (Lowndes High School Chorus and Theatre) proudly present Stephen Sondheim's enchanting Broadway musical, Into the Woods - March 20, 21, & 22. You have just 10 days left to get your tickets! This epic fairytale about wishes, family, and the choices we make follows the story of a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results. This whimsical adaptation of some of your favorite fairytales also includes Little Red Riding Hood, The Big Bad Wolf, Rapunzel, Prince Charming, and more. This is a show that is sure to delight the entire family! All Performances are at 7:00pm in the LHS Performing Arts Center. On Tuesday, Lowndes High School hosted the GHSA Region 1-6A Literary Competition. Lowndes placed 2nd overall as the Region Runner-Up. The following students placed 1st in their category and will compete at the GHSA State Literary competition on Saturday, March 15th at Buford High School:

Mrs. McCauley's and Mrs. Hannah's classes went on a nature walk scavenger hunt this week! They talked about living vs. nonliving things and created charts to compare what they discovered! It was a fun way to experience hands-on learning and enjoy the sunshine! #OneLowndes #BetterTogether

Mrs. Tuten's AP Literature students wrapped up The Importance of Being Earnest with a charming Victorian tea party. They sipped on hot tea, nibbled on cucumber sandwiches and muffins, and even created calling cards to celebrate Victorian culture! The room was replete with Gigglemugs and Proper Bits of Frock. We are so proud to announce that our LHS Artists took home awards yesterday at the High School Art Invitational at the Turner Center for the Arts downtown.
Kylee Morris placed 2nd for her Olympic sloth ceramic sculpture.
Kiara Perez placed Honorable Mention for her ceramic sculpture of a ballerina swan.
Roberto Simon-Hernandez placed Honorable Mention for his acrylic portrait.
