LCS Names Ashleigh Kenny District Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to our Lowndes County Schools Teacher of the year, Ashleigh Kenny!

Ms. Kenny’s new title was proudly announced at this morning’s convocation.

Ashleigh Kenny serves as the Instructional Lead Teacher at Pine Grove Middle School, where she blends her love of teaching with a deep commitment to supporting instructional growth across her school.

A product of Lowndes County Schools, Kenny brings deep roots and a strong sense of purpose to her work in public education. Over the past 13 years, she has taught multiple levels of middle grades ELA and is known for her creative instructional design that yields strong student growth. She excels at building meaningful connections between students and their community, as well as increasing family engagement by fostering trust, communication, and shared investment in student success.

Kenny believes education is most powerful when it connects content to purpose. From working directly with students to shaping conversations at the state level, she is committed to ensuring that learners feel seen, supported, and empowered to lead in their own lives. Her recognitions include Valdosta’s Woman of the Year, Rotary’s Service Above Self Award, and Valdosta’s “4 Under 40” award.
