Welcome to Hahira Elementary School! My name is Neil Wilkes, and I am the Principal at HES. For the past 23 years, I have been in the Lowndes County school system. For education, I received a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, a Master's Degree In Educational Leadership, and a Specialist in Performance-Based Leadership Degree through VSU.

I am truly blessed to have a wonderful family! My wife is Brandy Wilkes, and we have two loving children, Aidan and Isabelle.  Aiden is a freshman at UGA and Isabelle is a junior at Lowndes High.

Hahira Elementary School has a wonderful tradition of learning and excellence. I am excited and proud to work with such excellent teachers at HES. I love to work with children and help students develop skills and values that will be beneficial for future success.

My name is Kelly Lupton, and I am excited to serve as Assistant Principal at Hahira Elementary. HES has always held a special place in my heart because I grew up in Hahira, attended HES as a student, and later taught here as a teacher before returning as an administrator. My husband, Keith, and I have three amazing children—Colton, Chris, and Lily—who have also walked these same halls.

I have been in education for over 20 years, and what I love most is the relationships built within a school community. There is nothing better than watching students grow and supporting the teachers and staff who help make that growth possible each day.

Outside of school, you can usually find me cheering on my kids at football games and cheer competitions, attending fishing tournaments, relaxing by the pool or at the beach, or spending time on spontaneous adventures with my family. I am proud to be part of the Hahira Elementary family and look forward to another great year together!
