Central Registration Registrars: Kay Hardesty, Stacie Current, Dian Fulp, Donna Brown
Lowndes County Schools Central Student Registration is currently enrolling new students for the upcoming school year. All students who are not currently enrolled in the Lowndes County School System will need to register at the Central Student Registration Center, even if the student attended school in Lowndes County at an earlier time. All in-county transfers and address changes will be done at the Central Student Registration Center.
Central Student Registration Center is located in the Board of Education Annex next to the Lowndes County Board of Education at 1592 Norman Drive.
Parents or legal guardians must accompany students for registration. All students enrolled must reside in Lowndes County (but not within the Valdosta City limits) with parents or legal guardians.
All forms are available on-site, but downloading and completing before arrival will save time. A list of the required documentation for registration is included in each packet.
**Central Student Registration will request records but will not enroll the student until all documentation has been received or verified.
2017-2018 School Choice and Tuition
It is the goal of Lowndes County Schools to provide as much choice to our residents as economically possible. However, the system must first meet the needs of students within the school attendance zones before allowing school choice transfers and accepting new tuition students. The growth of our system and the continuation of austerity budget cuts can make this extremely difficult especially at our larger schools.
At this time the system is accepting requests for school attendance zone changes and tuition requests – both for qualifying property owners and non-qualifying property owners - for the 2017-18 school year. Parents/guardians have until April 14, 2017 to complete and submit a request.
Note: At this time the system is simply gauging the number of requests for the 2017-18 school year. Once received, all applications will be reviewed by the system’s attendance zoning committee. It is our goal to notify all applicants of the system’s decision no later than the first week of May 2017
