Sheriff Paulk, Donating Cars to LHS
Lowndes County Schools would like to extend a sincere “Thank You” to Sheriff Ashley Paulk for donating three cars to the Lowndes High School driver's education program.  Two Ford Crown Victorias and one Dodge Charger were given to the program. The donated cars were previous vehicles used by the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office. Paulk said the cars were in good shape for what they will be used for at the driver's education program.  "The three cars are only a few of the numerous vehicle donations by Paulk through the years", stated Steve Lankford, driver's ed teacher.  Lankford estimates Paulk has donated about 11 cars to the driver's ed program through the years, and Lankford said he is thankful for the sheriff's efforts.

Lankford said the donation will allow LHS students more time in the car. The goal is for each student to have six to eight hours in the car while in the LHS driver's education program.

Paulk spoke of the importance of driver's education and said LHS has a great program and he is glad to see it is still offered. The sheriff then shared words of advice for upcoming drivers: don't speed and don't drive distracted. "I can't stress enough, be careful," Paulk said.

Other LHS driving instructors include Steve Holley and Jermel Demps. Lankford, Holley, and Demps are also Lowndes High football coaches.
