Rachel Black is the March student GREAT Award winner!  Rachel is the epitome of a GREAT student. Throughout her elementary school career, teachers have relied upon Rachel to help out in their classrooms because Rachel is a very responsible student. From helping her peers to running errands, Rachel is a teacher's "go-to" student. Rachel takes any task given to her seriously and responsibly.  Rachel is a student that is ALWAYS willing to help a classmate in need. This year, she has been helping one of her classmates on a daily basis getting to and from her classes. In third grade, Rachel always "looked after" one of her special needs classmates to make sure he understood what to do and where to go. The teacher didn't ask her to do that. She has that innate quality to jump in when she sees a need to be met.  Rachel's attitude and enthusiasm for learning and life is exemplary.

Principal, Beth Lind, stated, “Rachel has an overall spirit of kindness and a maturity beyond her years. Rachel would make an excellent teacher! In fact, if she does go on to become a teacher, I want her to come back to Westside Elementary so that I can hire her.  She is just one of those students that it is an absolute pleasure to work with.”
Congratulations Rachel!
