Marie May (Lowndes High School) has worked in the Lowndes School Nutrition Program since 2003. She runs the largest kitchen in the school system serving over 1500 lunch meals each day. She is the ultimate one minute manager. She is a "hands on" kitchen manager who always knows exactly what goes on in each part of the kitchen. She is very efficient with required reports and holds very high expectations for her staff. Marie holds a culinary degree from Ben Hill/Irwin Technical College.
On a daily basis, Marie exemplifies and demonstrates our core values: EXCELLENCE in all that she does; COMMITMENT to the “We Are One Lowndes” campaign; INTEGRITY in service and teamwork; and WISDOM in her maturity and years of commitment to the Lowndes County Schools Nutrition Program. Marie is a great asset to her staff as she is always up to date on guidelines and strives to make the workplace safe and a healthy environment for all. Her dedication to her job makes her the perfect example of a GREAT employee!
