Mrs. Krista Pearson, Lowndes High School, is the GREAT Award winner for the month of February - Administration/Leadership. Mrs. LeAnne McCall, LHS Principal, shared her thoughts on Mrs. Pearson:  Over the several years in which I have had the pleasure to work with Mrs. Pearson, I have had the opportunity to observe her dedication and commitment as a servant leader.  She goes above and beyond to assist her colleagues, often behind the scenes, to support the teaching and learning vision of the school.  Throughout her career as a leader, Mrs. Pearson has helped facilitate the WHEELS program, Freshman Academy events, Golden Apple recognition ceremonies, and countless other school initiatives.  She does so because she believes in Lowndes.

On a personal note, Mrs. Pearson is an invaluable asset to our administrative team.  Her willingness to work late, come in early, and work "until the job is done right" is a true reflection of her dedicated work ethic.  I have seen her work tirelessly on schedules, events, and other school matters to make LHS more effective and efficient.  She always has a smile and kind words of encouragement.

Lastly, perhaps Mrs. Pearson's greatest strength is her ability to work with students and parents.  On numerous occasions, I have witnessed Mrs. Pearson masterfully diffuse a situation.  Some of our most challenging students routinely drop by to check-in with her, and she always makes them feel welcomed.  Her greatest legacy will be the lives she has touched as a calming voice in the storm or the friendly smile in a time of need.  She is a difference-maker!

Without question, Mrs. Pearson embodies all that the GREAT award represents.  I can't imagine anyone in our system more deserving of this honor.
